Sarah Cotton (b. 1994, Connecticut) is a self-taught oil painter based in Los Angeles, CA. They received a BA in Studio Art from Georgetown University (2017), where they studied photography and printmaking. Their background in photography largely informs their process and style as a painter, where portraiture and figurative work have remained the focal point of their practice. 

Sarah's work explores the energy and emotionality of those around them, as well as their relationship to themself and others, and often represents queerness and familiar moments of the human experience. Using a combination of precise marks and expressive colors, Sarah's work is both representative and evocative.
